Lions Clubs throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea are involved in establishing and managing a range of national projects, activities, foundations and initiatives. Through community fundraising, last year alone we raised more than $28 million that went towards funding medical research, improving health care, mental health support, assisting adults and children with disabilities, emergency response, and other purposes to help the community.

Our impact is continuing to grow. Through an expanded set of focus areas, our foundations throughout Australia are providing support to a wider variety of community needs.

More than fundraising, we offer members a support network, community involvement, opportunities to participate in interesting projects, friendships and much more.

Our club is actively engaged with a variety of Lions projects including, but not limited to:

Lions Assistance Dogs providing a free service to deaf clients, a Hearing Dog can alert owners to doorbells, alarms, phone calls, smoke etc offering more freedom and opportunities for teh whole famiy.

Lions Eye Health (providing eye health checks through schools)

Recycle for Sight (collecting millions of unused eyeglasses for overseas use)

Lions Cancer Screening, a bus that travels to different sites (some remote) to offer free skin checks for Cancer, resulting in thousands of people getting early detection and treatment.
